How to stop malware from being installed on your Mac?
Malware is malicious software that can harm your Mac or your privacy. Malware includes worms, viruses, trojan horses and other programs that can be installed while downloading items from email, messages and websites. Such malicious software are intent to control your Mac to access your personal and financial information, host illegal content, send spam or harm other computers connected to same network. - Now select any of the following sources to allow the software to be installed:
App Store: If you will select “App Store”, it will allow installing apps only from the Mac App Store. This is the most secure setting because Mac Store contains only the apps identified by Apple. macOS also checks the app before it opens the first time to be certain it hasn’t been changed since the developer shipped it. Moreover, if there is any problem in an app; Apple removes it from the Mac App Store.
App Store and identified developers:Selecting this option allows you to download apps from the Mac App Store and apps from identified developers. Identified developers are registered with Apple and can optionally upload their apps to Apple for checking the app security. If problems cause with an app, Apple can revoke their authorization. Moreover, macOS also checks the app before it opens the first time to be certain it hasn’t been changed since the developer shipped it.
