How to locate your missing AirPods
AirPods has changed the way you use headphones. They come in a charging case. Whenever you take your AirPods out of the charging case, they instantly turn on and connect to your iPhone, Apple Watch and iPad, Audio automatically plays as soon as you insert them in your ears and pauses when you take them out. If you lost your Airpods, you may locate them with Find My iPhone feature. With iOS10.3 or later, Find My iPhone may help you to find your missing AirPods. If you already enabled this option with an iPhone, iPad that you’re using with your AirPods, it’s automatically enabled for your AirPods too. So if your AirPods are lost, Find My iPhone helps you to find them by showing the time and location where they were last connected. Let’s learn how to locate your missing AirPods.
You may easily locate your AirPods by logging into iCloud account and using Find My iPhone, follow the below given steps to do that:
- Open iCloud.com on your PC or Mac.
- Sign in with your Apple ID and click “Find iPhone.”
- Click All Devices and then click your AirPods.
- If you are using iPhone or iPad, open the Find My iPhone app.
- Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
- Tap your AirPods.
- Here, you can see a colored dot that tells you the device’s status.
A blue dot shows the device that you’re using to look for your missing AirPods.
A green dot informs you that your AirPods are online. That means you can play a sound or follow directions to locate them.
A gray dot shows that your AirPods are off, out of battery, in their case, or out of range. You might see the last known location.
- If your Airpods are separated from each other, you can see only one location at a time on map. To find the other location, you need to refresh the map.
- If your AirPods are near any of your Apple devices and connected to Bluetooth, play a sound from iCloud.com or Find My iPone to locate it.
By following above given instruction you may locate your missing AirPods. Moreover, you may only access Find My iPhone from your personal Apple ID, you cannot access it by using a Managed Apple ID assigned to you by a school or institution.
