How to backup and restore your iPhone data with iTunes

Apart from iCloud, iTunes is also the perfect utility that helps you to backup and restore your iPhone data. If you are changing or selling your iPhone, you may backup all your information on iTunes and then restore it to other device or your formatted iPhone. Here, we will provide some easy steps to backup and restore your iPhone information using iTunes.

To backup your iPhone data with iTunes

• Open iTunes and connect your device to your computer.
• If you will be asked to enter your device passcode or to Trust This Computer, follow the onscreen steps.
• Select your iPhone when it appears in iTunes.
• If you want to save Health and Activity data from your iPhone, you need to encrypt your backup.
• In order to do that, you need to select the box called Encrypt [device] backup and create a password. If you don’t want to save your Health and Activity data, you may directly click “Back Up Now.”

• Once the process is completed, you may see if the backup finished successfully on the Summary screen in iTunes. Then check the latest backup with date and time.

To restore your iPhone data with iTunes

• Open iTunes and connect your device to your computer.
• If you will be asked to enter your device passcode or to Trust This Computer, follow the onscreen steps.
• Select your iPhone when it appears in iTunes.
• Select “Restore Backup” in iTunes.

• Look at the date and size of each backup and select one that you want to restore.
• Click “Restore” and then wait for some to get it restore, you may be asked to enter passcode for the encrypted backup.

• Keep your device connected after it restarts and wait for it to sync with your computer. Once your iPhone gets synced , you may disconnect it.
