How to archive email in your Gmail account

We are living in the world where we are receiving and sending tons of emails every day. There are many emailing services i.e. Gmail, Yahoo Mail, Outlook that are used to send and receive emails for both professional as well as personal purposes.  With the time, our inbox gets filled with many unwanted and disposable emails; storing these emails in inbox may be problematic for numbers of reason. If you don’t want to delete emails permanently or want to retrieve when you want, you may archive emails and move them from inbox to archive. To archive emails on a computer

Sending emails to archive is very easy, people make mistake by selecting a wrong option. Follow the below given steps to do that:

• In order to archive a message on a computer, sign into your Gmail account via your preferred web browser.
• Select the email or emails that you want to archive by checking their boxes so that each of them gets highlighted.
• Click the “Archive” button; it is displayed as a folder with a down arrow in the foreground.

• After following above given steps, email will be archived and shows a confirmation message along with a link labeled “Undo” that will revert this change if clicked on.

To archive emails on Android or iPhone

You easily archive emails on your iPhone and Android Smartphone or tablet from Gmail app, follow the below given steps to do that:

 For iPhone Users

• Open Gmail account and click on the  “Menu” button.
• From the main menu, go to Settings > “account name” > When removing messages, I prefer to…and ensure that Archive is selected.

 For android users

• Open Gmail account and click “Menu” button on the top left corner of the screen.
• Go to Settings > General Settings > Gmail default action and ensure that Archive is selected.
