How to resize photos with Automator on your Mac?
It is really a pain to resize images and save them again individually. If you are a Mac user and want to resize a batch of images at the same time, you may easily do it by using Automator. How to set up a new service?
- On your Mac, press “Command+Space” and then type “Automator” to open “Automator” and create a new service.
- Services are the programs that you may open by right-clicking a file or directly from the app menu.
- You need to set up a service is an input and it will be image files.
- After setting an input, you need to configure settings on Automator like scale images to set the quality of resized image.
- In order to do that, click “Options” on the Scale Images service and select “Show this action when the workflow runs.”
- After completing this, you may save this service and name it accordingly like “Resize.”
How to use created new service?
Once a new service is created you may use to resize images by following the below given steps:
- On your Mac, right click on any image, take a cursor on “Services” and then select “Resize” or whatever the name you set for the service.
- After that, it does copy the file over and then resize it and scale function resizes based on aspect ratio. For example: If your image is landscape-oriented, it will resize the width; if it is portrait-oriented, it will resize the height.
- If you want, you may also assign a keyboard shortcut to the service by going to System Preferences > Keyboard > Shortcuts > Services.
