How to automatically shrink text to fit in Microsoft Word document
Many people end up their Word document on the page that contains just a few sentences and lots of blank space. To avoid the extra printing of pages, people try to edit or adjust the sentences in their Word document. But now you need to make any changes in your written documents, you may just shrink the page by using hidden feature Microsoft Word. If you have just one or two sentences on your last page and don’t want to include that extra blank space in your prints, you may avoid it by shrinking the page. Let’s learn how to shrink text to fit in your Microsoft Word document.
If you have a short word document that has a very less amount of text on the last page, you may shrink it by following the below given steps:
- In order to do that, you may use Shrink One Page command that shrinks the document by one page by reducing the size and spacing of the text. However this command is not available by default but you may add it quickly by adding it to the Quick Access Toolbar.
- In the “Quick Access toolbar” at the top of the Word window, click “Customize Quick Access Toolbar”(the small down arrow) and select “More Commands” from the drop down menu.
- Under “Choose commands from” option, select “All Commands.”
- Here, you can see a long list of commands in the left side, scroll down it until you locate “Shrink One Page.”
- Click “Shrink One Page” to select it and then click the “Add” button to add it to the list of commands shown on the Quick Access Toolbar.
- Click “OK” when you are done.
- After completing the above steps, you may see the “Shrink One Page” button on your Word ribbon and just click it to shrink the page.
