How to enable or disable automatic forwarding in your Gmail account
If you are using multiple Gmail account and want to get all the emails from your one account to another account, you need to configure some settings to get all the emails forwarded automatically. Here, we will provide you some easy steps to enable or disable automatic forwarding in your Gmail account.
To enable automatic forwarding
You may automatically forward your messages to another address and choose to forward all new messages or some specific ones. Follow the below given steps to do that:
- On your computer, login your Gmail account you wish to forward messages from.
Note: You may only forward messages for a single Gmail address.
- In the top right corner of the screen, click “Settings.”
- Select “Settings” from the drop down menu.
- Select the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab.
- In the “Forwarding” section, select “Add a forwarding address.”
- Enter the email address you want to forward messages to and then Click Next >Proceed >OK.
- After doing that, you will get verification message on that email address.
- Open that message and click on the verification link.
- Now, come back to the settings page for the Gmail account you want to forward messages from and refresh your browser.
- Click the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab again.
- In the “Forwarding” section, select “Forward a copy of incoming mail to.”
- Select what you want to do with the Gmail copy of your emails. We suggest you to Keep Gmail’s copy in the Inbox.
- After making the above changes, click “Save Changes.”
To disable automatic forwarding
If you want to stop automatic forwarding, you may easily do it by following below given steps:
- On your computer, login your Gmail account you want to stop forwarding messages from.
- In the top right corner of the screen, click “Settings.”
- Select “Settings” from the drop down menu.
- Click the “Forwarding and POP/IMAP” tab.
- In the “Forwarding” section, click “Disable forwarding.”
- After making the above changes, click “Save Changes.”
