• Finally, close the folder and restart your Mac.

Using Terminal

If the finder is not responding at all, you may fix it by following below given steps:

• Launch the “Terminal” app on your Mac. You may do it either using Spotlight search or going to Applications > Utilities> Terminal.

• Now, remove the primary Finder preferences file. To do so, At the Terminal prompt, enter the following command and hit “Return”key on your Mac.

rm ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist

• Finally, restart your Mac to apply the changes you made.
