• On your Mac, go to Applications > Utilities and then launch “Terminal.”
• Enter the following defaults command string and then hit “Enter.”

defaults write com.apple.finder CreateDesktop -bool false

killall Finder

• Press “Enter”, doing this will refresh the Finder and the Desktop.
